HERBAL SYRUPS - GREAT TASTE AND BENEFITS IN EVERY SIP

Fruit syrups are an old friend that we reach for because of their delicate taste and the possibility to add a sweet taste to food and drinks in a new way. However, alongside fruit syrups, herbal syrups also make an appearance. Honeydew syrup and mint syrup are among the best-known stalwarts. Our fruit syrups in combination with herbs such as lavender and basil are also attracting a lot of attention. What can you get out of herbal syrups and why did we choose them?

First of all, herbs in syrups bring a whole new dimension of flavour that you can incorporate into drinks and meals. However, herbs have been used since time immemorial for their far-reaching effects in the field of human health. In conjunction with delicious fruits, they are a real taste treat. Everything you need to know about the herbs in our syrups, we will tell you in the article.

Basil

Basil originated in India and came to Europe in the Middle Ages, when it earned a lot of attention. The beautifully scented green leaves are now considered an essential part of Italian cuisine. Basil is also characterised by its considerable medicinal properties. Among its best-known properties is its aid to digestion, which it provides by stimulating the secretion of gastric juices. However, its effects have also been proven in the field of calming an irritated nervous system and stimulating the appetite.

From a gastronomic point of view, it is recommended to combine basil with vegetable salads and vegetable dishes. How can the basil contained in our grapefruit syrup be incorporated? Of course, you can reach for traditional recipes for lemonades or alconades, which will also find their fans. If you're not afraid to experiment, we'll recommend a great sauce for tofu or grilled meat:

Ingredients:

  • Grapefruit syrup with basil
  • Oil (sunflower or olive - the choice is yours)
  • Pinch of salt

In the same proportions, mix the oil with the grapefruit syrup with basil. Add a pinch of salt and you have a delicious sauce that you can enjoy with, for example, a vegetable salad with tofu.

Lavender

Lavender is one of the most famous medicinal plants. It is native to the Mediterranean and North Africa. The aromatic plant is known for its calming effects and for the fact that it acts as a powerful antidepressant. In our offer you will discover lavender syrup combined with the distinctive flavour of chokeberry. What is the best way to enjoy it besides lemonade?

The distinctive flavour of lavender has made it possible to include this herb in tasty salad dressings in the past. However, you can also choose lavender tea, which can be flavoured with lavender and chokeberry syrup. We recommend this combination for an interesting flavour. For example, you can indulge in it before going to bed - the lavender will allow for a better and more pleasant sleep.

Mint

Mint has a rich tradition in our territory for centuries. In the healing of the human population, it has been used since time immemorial, the first evidence comes from ancient Egypt. Mint is characterized by great effects on human digestion and is considered one of the best remedies for soothing irritable bowel syndrome. Peppermint syrup stands out for its ease of use and beautiful minty aroma.

How can mint be used in food preparation? Very simply! Our favourite combination is mint syrup with lime, which is excellent with chocolate desserts or as a topping for ice cream. You can also use it for salad dressings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 dcl water
  • 1 dcl mint syrup with lime

Boil the mixture over medium heat for a few minutes, allow to cool and serve with your favourite vegetable salad.

Harmanček

Chamomile, like lavender, has far-reaching calming effects. You can reach for it in case of an upset stomach or sleep problems. Chamomile is popularly known as camomile and is also known as the apple of the earth. It helps with inflammation and irritation.

A popular syrup in our offer is a combination of gooseberry and camomile. We suggest a cup of fragrant chamomile tea flavoured with this combination. This will give you an exceptionally good taste and improve your sleep.
